on judging….

above, anne’s guitar
***********
you are judged if you don’t have kids
you are judged if you do have kids
and choose to work
you are judged if you have kids and stay
at home
you are judged if you are single
you are judged if you are married
you are judged if you work too much
you are judged if you don’t work enough
you are judged if you gain too much weight
you are judged if you lose too much weight
you are judged if you live in a
gated community
you are judged if you are renting a tiny cottage
you are judged if you live like a gypsy
you are judged if you live in the suburbs
you are judged if you try to make a living by your art
you are judged if you work in a cubicle
you are judged if you sleep with too many men
you are judged if you don’t sleep with enough men
you are judged if you laugh too loud
you are judged if you are quiet and reserved
you are judged if you wear mismatched skirts and cowgirl boots
you are judged if you wear a suit and pantyhose
you are judged if you live outside the box
you are judged if you color inside the lines
its a never ending game
and nobody wins
because someone, somewhere, is always going to think
something different from you
the best i can do
is turn off the emotional chaos
that buzzes around me
and do what makes me happy
the end

Oh so true – I hope the day ahead gives me opportunities to choose to do things my way.

This. Is. So. True.
I needed to read this today. Thank you for the reminder to shut off the noise inside my head and find that still center that reminds me who I really am, so I can choose to be that person, knowing it’s real and true.

So true. And it’s sad that rather try to understand another person, people choose to condemn them and pass judgment when all anyone really needs is support and compassion.

Amen sister!
and it seems to come so easy to many…judging, that is.
i just always tell myself and my kids…we are ALL going through something and we need to remember to treat others the way we would want to be treated..quite simply, be.kind.to.one.another.

Love it! Do what you want, when you want, how you want. Just having respect for one another and being kind is the important part…not the differences in how we choose to live, work, love, play, etc.
