lets play...

have you been getting messy lately?

i actually did some finger-painting in the yard today and it felt really good! i am preparing for my class in a few weeks….if you are in the wilmington, nc area there are still spots available. come play with us and make some beautiful art! there will be great women, a serene magical space, and lots of art goodies. i am excited! click the art journal class button on the side here to sign up.

i have also decided to do monthly art groups at my cottage. do you need inspiring people to be around? (i do) does your inner muse need some fun? all you local peeps let me know if this sounds like something you would enjoy. i would like to do the first one towards the end of november.

oh and i am not forgetting about my online playmates. i have sort of been in a creative rut these past few months, hence the lack of magic here. but i am slowly climbing out and ready to create again. we are getting a video camera soon so maybe i will do some art videos. (but then you will know what a huge dork i am)

i want to play, i want to be around inspiring people and i want to connect. there it is universe…now lets get things rolling.

OOOOooohhhhh videos by you mccabe would be soooooo much fun!!! well i can’t speak for everyone, but i don’t think you need to worry about seeming dorky… i think we all consider ourselves a bit dorky. but that’s a good thing in my books. much much better than being boring!!! i’m also thinking of starting to make videos… seems like such a more personal way of connecting with this beautiful online community. i think it would be more than awesome to see videos made by you, i know they would be magical!!!

oh boy, do i know about ruts… so uninspiring and blah… i’ve noticed that when i get inspired again, it’s like a big gust of fresh air, ideas tornado-ing in… so perhaps these ruts are an important way to get down time, so we can get re-inspired and find our gusto again??? i like to see it this way… have you read the book “the war of art”??? i highly (highly) recommend it. it’s an incredible read about resistance to creating and some ways to overcome it.

As for your creative rut…you had a super busy summer with all the girlies, I think you just needed some time to wind down and get back to that place where you can create for the sake of creating ya know?
