More importantly, maybe, is if there is a good and important reason why you are doing something that doesn't make you "happy" but still bears doing? Back to McCabe's balance question, I think, or Rowena's comment, can it make you happy from another point of view? Sometimes, doing something that doesn't make us "happy" in the moment is worth doing for the long term consequences ... commitment, because it is important to someone we love, because sometimes the real gains we can achieve come through sacrifice or uncomfortable actions... I'm not sure. What I am pretty sure of, is that only in retrospect can we be sure if "happiness" was the touch point by which we were to measure why some action we took was the right action to take or not. xo Hmmm, always an important question.
