hi friends! thanks for sticking with me for all 9 poems. your comments always bring a smile to my face. :) i was getting to a place in my blog where i felt like i was in a rut. i realized i needed to shake things up and challenge myself as a writer. have you ever felt like this? i would like to explore more and worry less about what i write here. i would also like to help other writers/bloggers when they get stuck. i am not sure as to how to do this yet, other than offer ideas and support here. i believe in helping each other evolve as writers. i believe in your story, and encourage you to swim out of murky water when things feel grim creatively. the tiniest changes can make all the difference.

a big part of wanting to challenge myself in this way has to do with my new writing group. it is led by francesca lia block, who is the gifted author of many beautiful books. not only has francesca inspired me with her stories, but she has also inspired me as a mentor/teacher. she is spilling ideas, abundantly kind, and so delightful to work with. our wonderful little group does have openings. we meet once a month in LA. if this sounds interesting to you, i highly suggest you visit francesca’s world here for information. if you are too far to join us, i also suggest her books, especially this one. francesca is as magical as the characters in her books, and anyone who crosses paths with her is blessed.

Well you’ve inspired me to post a memory a day for 9 days on my blog :)

The rocks are wonderful! I love that you painted one red! xox

have a fabulous week!

Ooooooohhhhhhhhhh…… what an AMAZING GIFT for that new soul! Wow. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for letting us contribute to such an amazing amazing beginning. You are rare, dear mermaid. Very rare indeed.

P.S. Your bravery has inspired me, too!

that basket of magic rocks for schmoopy is delicious and how sweet you are to lovingly photograph each rock and then turn them over and photograph the back.

your poems and your muse are inspirations to us all sweet mermaid girl. xoxo

McCabe, you have outdone yourself this time. These poems have been wonderful just like you. Awesome thing you have done here. Thank you for doing it. keep it up.

Love the baskets!

just logging on to dancingmermaid is an inspiration my dear and I thank you

the basket of rocks made me cry.
beautiful you. xo

:)

“sticking with you over the poems” would imply that they were not gorgeous little spiritsongs, lovely one. which they most definitely WERE.

these rocks are seriously breathtaking.

I hope you don’t mind but, I tagged you for a Meme, which I rarely, if ever do. I think it is a really good one though and I’d love to see your answer.

Details are at my blog. :) Tanaya

Hi mccabe,
I think your poetry was absolutely beautiful and I encourage you to continue with it- so moving and lyrical! You are able to express yourself in so many creative ways and that is a true gift- magic!*~

Those stones are the most beautiful and magical thing I have seen. How magical you are to do this for your dear friend.

beautiful!!!

ohhhh…..how I wish someone had given me a basket of rocks like this with my first baby. It’s just yummy !!! And to see my word and name on one of the rocks….well it made me smile !!!

what a SWEET MAGICAL gift for her and the baby!!!

I know that feeling all too well…that being stuck…that sensation of being creatively drained. Thanks so much for sharing all of these wonderful joy-filled links and ideas and pictures. What a smile you’ve brought me! What inspiration!

I don’t have the words to clearly express how moved I am by your gift to Schmoopy, it’s beautiful.

Thanks for the joy.

Like I told Schmoopy, I am THRILLED to be a magical pebble in the pond of wishes! It’s SO great that you took all of our wishes for Baby D. & created such a thoughtful gift for our friend. I’m sad you were unable to join us — I was really looking forward to meeting you. Your art is a true inspiration!
XOXO

I think you’re really shaking things up! Your blog has been SO FULL of energy and inspiration! Quite magical! I love your writing already :)
