once upon a schmoopy*

this lovely pink daisy of a girl is schmoopy.
the photo is by her best bohemien beauty boho.
i was first introduced to schmoopy-
by boho,
back in july through the blogging community.
(and real life)
this was the first post i ever read
by schmoops.
i was instantly attracted
to her vulnerability and
ability to turn any
situation into something magical.
i feel like that one
simple post
sums up the most
important things about her.
she is beauty in action.
this is why i feel
called upon to do
something special
for her and her little one.
schmoopy’s story
has touched many,
and offered hope to those
who need it.
lets give something back.
here is what i need from you:
wishes.
one word wishes
for girl baby schmoopy to be.
wishes to be transferred onto,
what else?
beach stones.
on one side is your wish,
the other your name.
your love and energy all around.
dearest schmoops
is connected to so many,
but you don’t have to “know”
her to leave a wish.
each and every wish
is welcomed and appreciated.
this is one girl
who truly deserves a
happily ever after.
and she got it.
the end.
*******************************************************
editors note*
hello,
and thank you for all your beautiful wishes!
i appreciate them and schmoopy is so very touched.
i am going to turn the
comments off at 65 wishes.
after that,
please blow all remaining wishes
in schmoopy’s belly’s direction.
she would love it.
thank you
and big bright blessings to you…
mccabe x

What a thoughtful, beautiful and inspiring idea. You are so full of love and sweetness! I would love the opportunity to grant a wish, even though I don’t *know* Schmoopy, I have been following her journey and admiring your tribe of friendship for some time. My word for Girl Baby Schmoopy is {joy}. May she experience it every day in her life x

Well – I get in early so I get to choose the third most wanted. I wish for baby Schmoopy ‘love’
It goes without saying, but should still always be said. Right? I wish the precious baby of this beautiful woman all the love in the world. And most of all – as a girl in this tough world, I wish her deep, rooted, compassionate self-love.
xx

This is just perfect McCabe – what a delightful gift you’ve given us, in being able to give Schmoopy something and also, for Stacie herself.
My word is “blossom” because her little family will blossom when her girl arrives. xo

Perhaps part of the reason I love you so, though I don’t know you at all (there’s a wish, if I could have one, to have a friend like you in person), is your compassion and ability to love so many, so very, very passionately. You flow outward, your love is like an aura, you give, expecting nothing in return. The world needs more people like you, is hungry for it, your comment section/blog readers are proof enough of that. You are a quiet blessing in a tumultuous world. You are the inspiration of many…wise Mermaid, thank you for being you.

I have been lucky to know Schoompy for something like 23 years….she is special beyond words & I could not be happier for her & for “baby schmoops”, who will undoubtedly have 2 awesome parents. This post was a lovely “tribute”. My one-word wish: HOPE, because that is something our dear Schmoopy never lost during her journey & something all of us should have more of in our daily lives. I love her for that.
XOXO

Moxie!
(Which, loosely defined, includes courage, determination, energy, pep and know-how, all good things for a modern girl)
Thank you for doing this marvelous magical thing for this marvelous magical baby.
By kb on 02.13.08 9:49 am
tears are flowing.
my word for little schmoops is “Spirit” for three reasons. one is so that she will feel protected, safe and enveloped by her angels and spirit guides. two so that she will connect with kindred spirits throughout her life. three so that she feels the freedom to be a FREE SPIRIT on her journey and embrace who she is fully, being nurtured, loved and raised by her own free spirited parents.
this is one of the most beautiful gifts i have ever seen.
xoxo

I am so happy that Schmoopy has this beautiful blogging community.
She is and has always been a special, special person.
Holding her as a baby and looking into those ‘old soul’ eyes always kept me focused on the important things in life.
My word is “live”. It is our duty to live the best life we can even under circumstances that we have no idea the why of it all.
Love to all of you.

my word for little schmoopy, if i had to pick just one, would be “faith”….so that she always has some to get her through the rough times, she always has clarity of vision, and knows that the people who love her really do. to have a strong, unshakeable foundation is what i wish for this little baby-to-be. oh, how i’m so happy for you, schmoopy family!!!

It is clear to me that Stacie and Jimmy’s little girl will be blessed to have the same kind of love and support that her parents have.
I too have had the honor of knowing “Schmoopy” for many years and have found her to be a constant source of inspiration and strength. She didn’t walk away from our friendship when it would have been a very easy and understandable thing to do and I don’t know that she’ll ever really know how much that meant to me, how much she means to me or how much I truly love her for being such an amazing person and friend.
My word for her little blessing is BELIEVE because having faith isn’t enough if you don’t truly believe in something, especially yourself.
Thank you for allowing us to be a part of this wonderful tribute. It is a wonderful gesture and one that is richly deserved.

Real
Because her mother is so real, and that is the best gift anyone could receive is to be encouraged to be real.
Her momma has taught me more about being real, and I know she will teach her to be as well.
This is such a special gift.
Your loving heart touches me deeply. I am so truly happy that i have met you, and that we are getting to know eachother. My heart feels very safe with you.
Snuggles and smooches for you darling
love you

While I have never met schmoopy, face to face she is one of my heroes. Through our sporatic emails I gain such inspiration from her. I know she will raise a little heroine that will inspire many as well.
My word is *self*. Through everything Schmoopy has never loss her sense of self, and that is part of what is inspires me. She is an amazing and unique woman whose sense of self and the way she shares herself on her blog keep me inspired everyday.

There is never a moment in life that isn’t an opportunity to “Learn.” School may teach us ‘how’ to Learn… but it is the School of Life where real learning happens. My hope for this precious baby girl is that she walks her path in Life learning from her stumbles as well as her triumphs. May she learn from her parents and family and what is evident here, from the wonerdous support system she is sure to have. Love to all. xo Margot

Looks like I’m going to just squeeze in here! I’ve been sick the last couple days so am getting back to all my favorite blogs. My word for the Schmoopy-baby (and one I don’t think I saw yet) is: HAPPY. As we’re all learning again and again, it’s a decision we have to continue to make. May the newest addition to the Schmoopy home never be far from it.
