taking inventory

now i have gone and done it.
i have voluntarily posted me slapping my own bum on the internet,
and whats worse is this picture was taken by this up and coming photographer.

oh well.

i wanted to thank each and every one of you
who wrote sweet, inspiring messages and emails
regarding my last post.

i love you* and this cozy little community
so very much,
and am incredibly grateful for its (and your)
positive vibes and all around bad ass*ness.
(no pun intended, just made that word up)

i have done loads of spilling and processing
this past week…
and am feeling like it is time to stop and take inventory
on all the goodies i have acquired along the way…..

so here is my list today.

dear universe,

thank you for my beautiful, quirky, and compassionate partner and best friend.
thank you sparing our tiny home amongst the fire and the chaos.
thank you for cranky cat, who does killer yoga poses and loves me deep (deep) down.
thank you for friends like this who do elaborate impromptu dance routines just to cheer me up.
thank you for all the little sparkles who make my world a more twinkling place.
thank you for this beauty who learned how to cook a porkchop just because it was justin’s favorite meal.
thank you for unexpected gifts from incredible people i admire.
thank you for these moody, overcast days that are so much fun to take pictures in.
thank you for trader joes cinnimon grams that freaking rock out. dear god.
in a nutshell,
thank you for surrounding me with people and things that
make me feel good inside.
(and sorry i don’t say thank you enough
and sometimes complain about riduculous things.
i am trying to get better about that.)

Well ladybug you reap what you sow don’t cha know. So I’m afraid you’re going to have to manage the deeply entrenched, rich rows full of love and light blooms sprouting up all around you–reaching as high as your aforementioned bum and beyond. Youâ€™re such a very good egg! Thank you for sharing. For sharing it all and not keeping the parts (challenges/struggles) that bring on the most stirring growth tucked away in the shadows. They (read: we) all need air and light and a loving community. You have that in spades.

Reading everyone’s comments, made me think of an episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm when Larry David yells out to a friend, “I’d know that ass anywhere” completely inappropriate and totally funny.

for reals? i heart this picture of booty smackin’. it’s inspired me to pick up my girl from school and hand over my camera to her, turn up some jack johnson and have her document our booty shakin’ and our booty smackin’. thanks!
